While Facebook is beloved in the eyes of most, there has long been and underlying competition between Instagram and Twitter. When it comes down to the number of users who visit the site on a daily basis, Twitter has been the reigning champion. Until August of this year that is. Survey results were reported from comScore‘s app Mobile Metrix 2.0, which allows businesses to track the activity of their consumers. The results showed that daily hits on the site in August were Twitter: 6.9 million and Instagram: 7.3 million. Despite the likability and convenience of Twitter, the unique appeal of Instagram has won it first place in this popularity contest…for now.
